Florida Trip

Kevin and I made our 3rd annual trip to Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida this past week. Kevin's grandparents have a condo there right on the beach. It is beautiful! Here we are at the Old Salty Dog for dinner.

This is the view of the beach at sunset from the condo's porch.

We went to the Daiquiri Deck, one of our favorite spots. My daiquiri was virgin this year so Kevin and to drink for the two of us.

We had a special guest this year that stole the show, Henry Davis Vaughan. Summer and Gary met us down there with little Henry and we got to see what life with a baby is like. Henry is 6 months old and he was perfect. Summer and Gary are wonderful parents. Henry is a lucky little man.
Here is Summer and Henry enjoying the pool.

What a cute fellow
And a cool dude!

Henry loves to put blankets on his head and then flail his arms and legs about like a crazy person, it is quite funny.

Look at the beautiful Vaughan family.

We are at Captain Kirks and they have the WORLDS BEST clam chowder (that is what the menu said). It was okay in my opinion.

We had a wonderful vacation and hopefully next year we will be taking Baby Perlin down with us.

Joey's Going to be a Soccer Player

I took Joey to Fire Fighter's Park last week in his Adidas soccer gear and he kicked the ball around. He loved it! Uncle Kevin and Aunt Sue will have to start with some drills soon.

Anyone Want a Shot?

I found out last week that I have Thrombophilia which is a blood clotting disorder. This disorder becomes high risk when you are pregnant. Since I had a family history of blood clots they ran a bunch of blood tests on me. I am very happy that this was discovered now. Everyday I get to give myself an injection in my side. The good news is that because of this I won't get a blood clot and I have to get an ultrasound every 4 weeks so I get to see my baby every month. I meet with a specialist this Thursday to discuss my condition.

Happy 4th of July

After Kevin and I played golf on Friday we went to Joel's house to celebrate the 4th. We actually went to his parent's house. They live down the road from us in Waterford. We played in the lake during the day and then took a boat ride at night to watch the fireworks.

Yes these muscles are real! So is that golf tan.

Below is Candice and Joel and their 4 month old son Graham.

They had some beautiful fireworks out on the lake.

Goodbye to the Blazer

After 172,000 miles of fun and aggravation, it was finally time to say goodbye to the Blazer. We had been together since 1999 and parted ways last Wednesday. I actually cried when I drove away from the dealership in my new car and past my old one.

Here is our more family-friendly, more reliable new car. It is a 2007 Chevy Malibu.

Kevin is a Still A Soccer Stud

Kevin and I met on the soccer fields on MSU 10 years ago and we still play soccer together one day a week on a co-ed team. Now that I am finished with soccer (for the next 5 months or so) I have to sit on the sidelines and watch my husband play. He had a wonderful game last week and scored a beautiful goal.

Dave and Karen's Housewarming Party

This is the view from the front porch of the house. It is very peaceful.

Dave grilled and Joey helped.

Joey was very interested in the glass door and rocks.
