Big Girl Bed

Yesterday morning I converted Katelyn's crib into a toddler bed.  She got new bedding for Christmas!  As I was taking it apart I got a little sad.  I also packed up some baby toys to make room for new toys and again, sadness.  It is funny how with your first child you are so excited for all the new stages and  and with your baby you want things to slow down (that is how I feel at least.)

When we put Adam in a big boy bed we taught him that he is NOT to get out of bed during the night or nap time until Mommy or Daddy gets him out.  I think it is one of the best things we ever did!  So we are doing the same thing with Katelyn.  The first day she did great.  This afternoon, she decided to test her boundaries.  I watched it all on the video monitor.  She sat on the end of her bed and thought about it for awhile.  Then she touched her toe to the floor.  All the while I am on the other side of the door just waiting.  Then she got out of her bed and I opened the door and said, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"  She got back in bed and said, "Sorry mama!"  She did not get out again and went to sleep.  She staying in her bed tonight also.

She loves her new bed and thinks she is such a big girl.  I was going to lay her in her bed today and she said, "No, mama, I want to get in my bed myself."  She was smiling the whole time she was doing it.

SNOW FUN!

 YEAH HAW!!!!  It's snowing!
Joey loved Adam and Kate's Jeep

 We got ALOT of snow!

Joey and Dave came over to play in the snow too!
 That is a BIG snowball!

Adam's BIrthday / Snow Storm 2012

We started out Adam's birthday at Bounce U for some jumping fun!
Then we went out to lunch with Kevin at Noodles and Company which Adam loves!
It started snowing while we were at lunch and it didn't stop which changed our evening plans of Chuck E Cheeses or bowling to staying at home.
Adam got a lot of Jack and the Neverland Pirate toys for his birthday which he LOVED!!!
He also got golf clubs in his favorite color... orange!  It has been his favorite color for over a year now so hopefully it doesn't change.
He also got an orange puma visor since Kevin wears visors when he plays golf.  He is super excited to go to the range with Kevin on Saturday.
The Vaughan bought Adam "Pass the Pickle." We all played it to end the night!
Our wonderful little ball of energy and life is four years old!  We took the guard rails off his bed so now he thinks he is really big!
I hope all his wishes come true!

Christmas 2012

Stockings were hung by the chimney with care!
 Let the madness begin!

Katelyn was really into Christmas morning this year!

Adam was really cute because he wanted to get Daddy a bike for Christmas.  He worked really hard on keeping it a secret.  He let it slip a couple times. He was so excited to give it to Daddy on Christmas morning.

Adam and Kate had to take the Jeep out for a test run  before we left for the Arends' house.
We went to my parents for brunch and presents!  Katelyn got a sweet little highchair!

Adam got a Leappad just like mommy and daddy's ipad!

Then off to the Perlin house for Christmas dinner and more presents!

Adam got a MSU football jersey and helmet.  He loved it!

Katelyn got her own purple (her favorite color) polka dotted (she loved polks dots) chair just like her brothers.
 Colin's first Christmas!
 Adam with his Godmother!

Lauren got Katelyn in the Perlin grab bag.
