Bless This Baby
Dearest Father in Heaven,
Bless Adam and bless this day
Of new beginnings.
Smile upon this child
And surround this child, Lord,
With the soft mantle of your love.
Teach this child to follow in your footsteps,
And to live life in the ways of
Love, faith, hope and charity.
Today we celebrated the Baptism of Adam. All of our family came to our church and then to our house afterward for a little reception. Adam is a lucky boy to have so many people in his life that love and care about him. Thank you to everyone who came, especially Uncle Dan who drove from East Lansing just for the Baptism. Adam was lucky to have not only his grandparents there but also his great grandparents. Adam was so good in church. Not to brag but... he was the only baby there that didn't cry. Today Adam was off his usual schedule, didn't nap much, was held by different people, got cold water poured on his head and was as happy as he could be. When everyone left I laid him down on a blanket and he was just smiling and cooing. He was so happy and I kept thinking about how blessed and lucky we are to have such a wonderful and healthy baby boy.

An Irish Blessing
For Adam on his Baptism Day
May God grant you always
A sunbeam to warm you
A moonbeam to charm you
A sheltering angel so nothing can harm you
Laughter to cheer you
Faithful friends near you
And whenever you pray
Heaven to hear you.
Thank you to Billie who took these pictures for us.

Summer was excited to see Adam and us and the snow!
She was so excited that she grabbed a shovel and starting shoveling.

We all celebrated Valentine's Day on Saturday in the morning. Adam opened all his cards. Boy was he excited! Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Perlin, Grandma and Grandpa Arends, Great Grandma and Great Grandpa, Aunt Janet and Family, Aunt Jillian and Aunt Sue and Family. Adam even made a little Valentine's money that he put in his piggy bank which is now up to $33, which is more than I have in my wallet.
I made heart shaped pancakes... I was excited about that!
Joey wore his "Single and Loving it" shirt...
while Adam wore this on Valentine's Day, thanks to the Walker Family.

Today
"Yikes... I sure hope Daddy gets up soon or he will be late for work.
Mommy sent me in here this morning to wake him up."
Since Adam's birth the weather has been as cold as can be so I was very excited today to take Adam for his first walk. He seemed to enjoy it. I look forward to the weather getting even better so we can go on longer walks together.
Kevin and I think Adam is going to be right handed. No matter how tight we swaddle him that boy ALWAYS has to get his right hand out so it can be close to his face. Then he is content. We can him Houdini.

Ladies Man in the Making
We went over to Patrick and Bethany's last night and Adam was all excited because he was going to see Charlotte. Adam went to the store and got her some flowers and made her a card asking her to be his valentine. He even wore the sweater she got him.

When we got there Adam was nervous and had to talk to daddy for some advice. Kevin told Adam to kick back, relax and let the ladies come to him.

That is exactly what happened. Look at the grin on Adam's face.

Our Sweet Boy!
"Just me and my buds hanging out this morning."

I just love this picture. I think he looks sooooo sweet! This was before our baptism class last night. Kevin and I selected godparents for Adam. It was a tough decision because we have so many wonderful people in our lives to choose from. Adam's godmother is Kevin's sister Jillian and Adam's godfather is my brother Dave. Adam will be baptized on February 22nd at our church Our Lady of the Lakes. He will be wearing the same clothing that his daddy wore when he got baptized.
