Our First Official Bedtime!

Tonight we had our first official bedtime. Adam got a little sponge bath bath from Kevin and me.
Then he played with his daddy in the rain forest. Who do you think is having more fun?

Then he got to listen to a story with me.

Then it was hugs and kisses and off to bed. Sweet dreams little one.

We are Home!

We arrived home today and Kevin was so excited to watch some football with his son.
Kevin is such a great daddy!

Guests, Guests, Guests

Adam had lots of visitors. We were not able to take pictures of everyone, I wasn't exactly feeling myself yet. But thank you to everyone who came or sent their best wishes.

Dave and Karen came by. So did Joe, Billie Jo and Joey.

Heidi came by

Jill came by

Kristin and Dave got to meet Adam too.

Jill and Rob stopped by too

Danny and Kenny and grandparents and Patrick all stopped by to see Adam.

Grandparents!

Grandma Shirley and Papa Joe were there to welcome Adam.

So was Grandma and Grandpa Perlin!

My brother's Joe and Dave were there too and Dave's girlfriend Karen. I was jealous that Kevin got to be the one who went out to tell everyone that the baby was a boy.

And Baby Makes 3!

During Christmas Eve festivities I didn't quite feel right. I was having contractions and we ended up leaving church a little bit early. We went to the hospital on Christmas morning because my contractions were 5 minutes apart for about 2 hours. We left at 4am only to end up going home after my contractions slowed down around 10am. We had Christmas with our families and went in Friday morning to be induced. My body responded very well to the drugs. I was induced at 8am and Adam was born at 2:51pm. It was an amazing experience and I still can't believe we have a little son. Everyone at the hospital was so nice and everything went really well. Adam, Kevin and I are all doing great!
Adam weighed in at 8 pounds and 1 ounce. He is 21 inches long.

Kevin and Sue Medical Update

Today Kevin and I both had doctor's appointments.

Kevin went to the doctor for his knee and found out that he completely tore his ACL and meniscus. He is going to have to have surgery again and yes, this is the same knee from 3 years ago. He is thinking he may have surgery in March.

I went to the doctor for the baby and found out that if I don't give birth by Christmas Kevin and I will be going to the hospital at 6am on Friday so I can be induced. We are both very excited that we will actually have a baby in our arms by the end of this week. It is hard to believe. I am excited, nervous and scared all at the same time. The good news is that my doctor would be delivering me if I get induced instead of whoever is on call that day. I guess time will tell.

Everything's Ready... Bring on the Baby!

T'was 2 weeks before baby,
And all through the house,
Everything was ready,
Even a little stuffed mouse.

The crib was all set,
For very sweet dreams,
The closet was full,
of clothes yellow, green and cream.

A changing table is waiting,
For whatever might come,
And the rocker and ottoman,
For Baby, Dad and Mum

Books on the shelf,
For Baby to hear,
Towels in the bathroom,
For our sweet little dear.

The pack and play was ready,
For naps and fun,
The basement has a place to play,
For Sue's little bun.

We're ready... we're ready,
as ready as can be,
Will Baby Perlin come early?
We'll just have to see.

We will keep everyone posted on any new developments this week. I am hoping that by the end of this week we will have our baby in our arms. It's a crazy thought.

Busy Weekend

Friday night was my work party in Grand Blanc. Kevin came up and he finally saw my classroom! Then we went to The Brick Street Grill which was nice. This is a picture of me and Kevin with Mike and Katy.

Saturday morning I went to Margot's Spa in Birmingham to surprise Jenny for her 30th birthday. We had a little spa time and lunch. It felt so good to get a pedicure. I could have stayed there all day. We had lunch at 220, which I had never been to before. LeAnne came down from Lansing. I hadn't seen her in a while so that was nice.

After lunch I had to go get another test done at the hospital. I am almost done with those. Four more left unless I go early! After the test we went to the Novak's Christmas Party. Everyone wore there best Christmas sweaters. There were some really funny ones. I think I am smuggling something under my shirt. What do you think?

This morning we woke up and went to brunch at Lochmoor Country Club with the Farrar side of of the family. After brunch we got our tradition picture with Santa and most of the cousins.

Remember our little flowers girls from the wedding? Well they are growing up! Sarah and Meghan are on the left. Andrea and Andy's daugher, Annabella is on the right. Annabella was so sweet with Santa. She just laid her head on his beard and settled right in.

Happy Birthday Dave!

We celebrated Dave's birthday last Tuesday at PF Changs. It was yummy. Joey looked like a little man in his winter sweater. Everything was great until Wednesday night when I got violently ill with the flu. I actually stayed home from school I was so sick. I never do that. I feel great now. Kevin has been hanging in there too. He hurt his knee last week playing soccer. He got an MRI taken this past week and he has to wait until the 22nd to find out what is going on. We are hoping that there is no need for surgery.

Kevin's Christmas Party

This year we had Kevin's Christmas party at the Somerset Inn. The food was very good and so was the dessert table. I was the first one in line for dessert... go figure! It was nice to see everyone.

Happy Birthday Jonah

Kevin and I went to Jonah's 1 st Birthday Party last night. It is hard to believe that it has already been a year since he was born.

Jonah did not like his cake. He is glaring at his daddy right now who forced some in his mouth.

Here is Jonah with Jim and Shannon opening presents.

No, Heidi did not have a baby. This is Mary and Dan's son, Matthew with Heidi. He is getting so big! Matt is now 6 months. Baby Perlin can't wait to meet all his or her little friends.
