So I went to a baby resale shop this week and I was very excited to buy Adam two new toys. I got him the Laugh and Learn house recommended by Mary and Matt and a little push walker and rider. I got great deals on both! Here is Adam playing with his toys this morning.

Getting Ready to Go Back to School
So this past week I was working in my classroom. My mom came all three days to help me and Adam came one day. The other days he was with Aunt Mary and Uncle Dave. I thought Adam would love all the toys in my room. Instead he played with his diaper changing pad.
Adam with his Grandma Shirley.
What a different 8 months makes.
Adam also got to wear his first pair of Adidas shorts from Grandma Shirley!

Kenny Chesney
Last Saturday we went to see Kenny Chesney. Kevin parents, Chris, Jill, Erin, Uncle Mark and Aunt Karen, Kevin and I along with a bunch of other people went down to Detroit to tailgate before the concert. We had a great time.
It was Erin's 26th birthday! Happy Birthday!

It is so much fun to walk around and look at all the tailgaters. It is hard to see with people dancing on the table but this guy brought his whole living room set. He had a couch, two chairs, a coffee table and 2 lamps. One truck filled his truck bed with sand and he had palm trees and sand toys. One tailgate was BBQing a pig. One woman decorated her wheelchair with palm trees and lights. I also saw a cooler train. This person has rigged two coolers together like a train. The top of the coolers had padded seats so you could sit comfortable. The front cooler had handlebars and a horn. The whole thing was motorized. It was quite a sight.
The show started at 4:00 and went until 11:00. We saw Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, Sugarland and Kenny. Everyone was great!

Adam's First Tiger Game!
For Father's Day all of Kevin's siblings got him tickets so he could take Adam to his first baseball game. We went this past Sunday.
Outside the stadium. It was a toss up for Kevin, carry Adam in the baby carrier or carry the diaper bag. Apparently these tasks are both "too girlie" for Kevin. He decided on the bag.

Adam did such a great job. It was sticky and hot and he was at the game during his nap time but he did a great job. He was happy and enjoyed watching all the people. I don't think he knew a game was going on but he enjoyed the music they played. He even got a certificate from the Tigers since it was his 1st game.
He woke up in time to rally but it was too little too late and the Tigers lost. When he got home he got a bath and played a little. He was pushing a toy and he had to stop every so often and lay his head down on the carpet. I guess he was really tired but he didn't want to stop playing. It was really sweet. So we put him to bed and he passed out. He rarely sleeps on his back these days... he has to be really tired.

Adam Updates
Adam now weighs 19 pounds and 12 ounces.
Adam has 2 teeth he got his first one a few weeks ago and the other popped up a couple days ago. Adam has hair just very little and what he does have is very light.
Adam is crawling really well and is getting faster. He loves to pull up to a standing position whenever he gets the chance. Now he loves to have something in his hand while he is standing up.
Adam loves to be around other children and he loves to watch them.
I am still nursing Adam and he has been enjoying solid food. I am still making it at home. So far he enjoys: apples, pears, peaches, apricots, zucchini, yellow squash, acorn squash, butternut squash, sweet potatoes and peas. He is not sure about bananas and avocados. He eats rice cereal, barley cereal and oatmeal. He is a good eater.
Adam takes two naps a day. He is really good at falling asleep on his own. It is so neat to watch him on our video monitor. He wakes up at 6-6:30 every morning and goes to bed at 8:00-8:30.
I go back to school in a couple weeks to start setting up my room. This fall Adam will be watched on Mondays and Tuesdays by Aunt Mary, Wednesdays and Thursdays by my brother Dave and Fridays he will go to Dandi Lions Daycare in Waterford. Kevin and I feel very blessed that Dave and Aunt Mary will be coming to our home to watch Adam. I think Adam will enjoy day care and being around other children. Once my mom's knees are back in working order I am sure she will be watching him one day a week.

Wedding Weekend Whirlwind!
Kevin's sister Jillian married Rob this past Saturday. We started the weekend off on Thursday at our house with a Perlin family BBQ. The California Perlins flew in for the wedding and when Aunt Chris came to our house, she was wearing the exact same outfit as Patti Perlin. It was very funny.
We had lots of yummy food and fun.
Even Adam had a great time. It was nice to have the BBQ at our house because we could just put Adam to bed and still hang out with everyone. Here is Adam playing with his cousin Lauren.
The men drank beer and played games while the ladies sat around and talked.
On Friday we had a bridal luncheon and then we went and got manicures and pedicures compliments of the bride and mother of the bride. I was lucky since I got to sit next to the junior bridesmaid. It was wonderful to get pampered and thank you to Grandma Perlin for watching Adam while I was away.
Then we had the rehearsal at St. Lawerence. I still get little chills when I walk into that church. It is the same place Kevin and I got married.
Rehearsal dinner was at Champps. I had the best chicken there, it was walnut encrusted chicken. I highly recommend it!
A little blurry but... here are all the bridesmaids getting their hair done at 8am. Everyone looks so pretty.
Congratulations to the happy couple. Jill and Rob are in Hawaii right now on their honeymoon and I am sure they are having a wonderful time. We had so much fun at their wedding. Thank you to all our babysitters on Saturday for watching Adam so that Kevin and I could be a part of everything. Thank you Tom and Alli, Dave and Karen and Grandma Shirley :). We really appreciated it!
