Happy Birthday Mom

We celebrated my mother's birthday tonight. Except I think Joey thought it was his birthday since he got on the saddle instead of my mom. It was Adam's first dinner out tonight. He was an angel at the restaurant. He slept the whole time. Even while the entire restaurant was giving my mom a big YA-HOOOOO for it being her birthday. My mom is the most thoughtful and wonderful woman that I know and I am proud to call her not only my mom but my best friend. I don't know what I would do without her. I love spending time with her and being on maternity leave has given me the chance to not only spend time with Adam but also with her. I am so thankful that she will be watching my baby when I go back to work until the end of the school year. It will be very comforting to know that Adam is in her loving and caring hands.
I love you Mom... Happy Birthday!

I'm a Cowboy!

Since we are going to Texas Roadhouse for my mom's birthday tonight we thought we would dress Adam in his Western outfit. Mr. Tal and Miss Jeanette sent this all the way from Texas.

Look at the little horse socks.

2nd Doctor's Visit

Adam went to see Dr. Chung today and the last time we saw him Adam weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces. Today Adam weighed 10 pounds and 5 ounces. He's a growing boy! He also had to get a shot today which was the first shot I had to witness. I felt for sad for Adam. He was all happy looking at the lights in the ceiling. Then his eyes got big and he started crying. It was the first time I saw him in pain and I didn't like it.

He got this cute sticker for his scrapbook!

Growing Everyday!

Being a teacher I get to watch kids grown over the course of a school year. With Adam, it is different. I get to watch Adam grow everyday. He seems to get a little bit bigger everyday and each day he can do a little something new. Yesterday I saw him focus on a dangling animal in his glider at Grandma's house. I get so excited over the smallest things.

"Look what my dad taught me last night! My daddy put my pants on his head to be silly last night so I tried it today."

Eating sure is hard work. Adam tends to pass out right after.

"Daddy please don't go to work... stay and play with me all day!"

Uncle Kenny came over to watch the MSU basketball game with Adam.. and Kevin

Adam doesn't mind being naked. Kevin and I are always surprised how you can take all his clothes off and he is just fine. He loves being in the bath. I would think he would be cold, especially in the winter but he is just fine. Look at his growing belly.

This is one of those small things I was talking about. The first time Adam held onto a rattle I was soooo excited that I had to record it.

1st Time at Church

Today was Adam's first day at church. He was really good, he just slept the whole time. He had a really hard time deciding what to wear this morning. Here he is sitting in his PJs from Aunt Jill thinking about it.
He could not decide so he spit up instead.

Work and Play

Yesterday Adam and I brought Kevin lunch at work. Adam enjoyed meeting everyone.. even though he slept through the whole thing. Then we had his first trip to the mall. We got to use the stroller which I had to figure out in the parking lot. We met Grandma Shirley there. Then Adam went to Grandma and Grandpa Perlin's house. Grandma Perlin babysat Adam and Kevin and I went bowling. We really had to twist her arm to babysit :) . Adam told us he was a good boy and had a great time. Thank you Grandma Perlin.

Today's Adventure

"A couple days ago I did some serious thinking during my nap time and I decided to go to Max and Ermas for lunch today with my mom and Grandma Shirley."

"I was so good at the restaurant and the store. When I got home I was exhausted."

"Since I was such a good boy, Mommy let me play in the rain forest. What a great day!"

My Big Day Out!

I left Adam at home today with Kevin and a bottle. It was the first time I missed a feeding with Adam and the first time he had a bottle with Dad. Adam did great and Kevin said that he sucked it down quickly. It was strange to be away from Adam for more than 2 hours. I was at Colleen's baby shower. Colleen is due in March. She flew in from Connecticut for the shower. She doesn't know what she is having but I hope it's a boy so he can play with Adam, Matt and Jonah when he comes to visit. I also hope he has red hair like his mama.

Look at Me!

Kevin and I have always known our child is a genius! Of course he probably has no idea what he is doing. This is the 3rd time he has done this and I actually caught it on video. Go Adam!

Sweet Dreams

Our son loves to sleep. Here are two of my favorite sleeping pictures.

Look at me and my little peanut!

Hanging Out

Kevin dressed Adam in this outfit from Dave and Karen because he is looking forward to the day when Adam and him can play ball together.

Right now he has to settle on just doing laundry together.

Guests, Guests, Guests

Adam had more guests come visit him this week.
He had Grandma Shirley stop by Friday afternoon

Liz and her daughters stopped by Friday evening. The girls are both former students of mine and I watch them one day a week in the summer. This is Gabrielle.

This is Dominique. Dominique is anxious to babysit little Adam.

Carrie and Will stopped by Sunday afternoon. They are expecting their own little bundle of joy in February. They are going to have a little girl named Gabriella.

Grandma and Grandpa Perlin stopped by Sunday evening and brought us dinner, thank you!

Bath Time!

Since Adam's umbilical fell off the other day we can give him baths in the tub.
This is his first bath...

Kevin dried him off

I put lotion on his hands and feet.

He liked being all wrapped up his towel.

After his bath he got in his PJs and laid with Kevin a little before falling asleep.
What a busy night!

Play Date!

Adam had little Evan come over today for a play date. Evan is 9 weeks old and he seemed so much bigger than Adam. It's hard to believe that Adam will be that size soon. I want him to stay a little peanut forever!

The Many Faces of Adam

Kevin and I love to watch Adam and all the faces he makes. Here are just a few...

Hanging Out with Mom

Adam and I ran errands yesterday with Grandma Shirley and boy was he tired when he got home.I have already taught Adam to raise his hand when he would like to speak. He is almost ready for kindergarten.

What is That?

It's a chocolate chip... It's a raisin... no it's Adam's umbilical cord! Yesterday Adam lost the nasty thing that has been attached to his belly button, yeah! This post goes out to you Miss Vicky!

"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!"

Adam is a very good sleeper. He loves to be wrapped up like a mummy and sleep in his crib. I have to keep waking him up to eat.

He also likes to nap in his papasan chair from his Great Aunt Diane. He is so precious! He loves his new blanket from Mary!

There are times when he is awake though... INCOMING!!!!

Adam Had Vistors Today!

Adam had guests today. Shannon and Jim stopped by to see him.

Then Katy and Mike stopped by with Emily. Adam looks so little next to Emily.

Mary and Dan stopped by with Matt. What a cute group of boys!

Kevin and I have been so overwhelmed with all of our friends and family and the support they have shown us. Thank you to everyone for the cards, well wishes, phone calls and gifts. Adam is a blessed little baby and we are extremely blessed to have all of you in our lives.
