What a Game, What a Tailgate!

We had a 3:30 game this Saturday against Notre Dame, which means that it was going to be a wild tailgate. It started out with some BIG news! Kevin's sister Jill got engaged. Rob proposed to her on campus in the botanical gardens before they came over to tailgate. Kevin and I are so happy for them. Welcome to the family Rob! It looks like we will have 2 Perlin weddings next year since Kevin's cousin Jane got engaged this past week too.

The Notre Dame game was our turkey game of the year. Boy the 2 turkeys were good and they went fast. Thanks Uncle Mark! You did a great job!

MSU won and it was a great feeling to experience a big win, I forgot what it felt like.

Something in the Water

I am one of 4 pregnant teachers at my school. (right to left: Jen is due beginning of October, Kristine is due end of October, Sarah is due mid November and then there is me at the anchor position due at the end of December.)

Come Rain or Come... Rain

There was definitely no "shine" on Saturday that is for sure. We were all huddled under the tents and wearing our finest ponchos. Near the end of the game Kevin looked over at me and said, "You're a trooper." I laughed. It was the first time we could remember that it had rained from 7 in the morning when we arrived to 4 in the afternoon when we left. It rained hard. Our fingers were all pruned. Spartans won though so it was worth it.... right?

Kevin still had to play bags. My favorite part was watching him ring the bags out before he threw them.

Uncle Mark and Erin still had a smile on their faces even though it was pouring as we cleaned up.

Happy Birthday Jillian!

We all went to Mongolian Thursday night to celebrate Jill's 24th birthday. Baby Perlin ate 2 bowls, s/he sure was hungry. I seem to be eating a lot lately!

Jonah's Big Day

I went to Jonah's dedication today. What a cute family! Thank you Hoogewinds for a wonderful lunch afterwards. God Bless little Jonah!

Mary brought little Matthew along. Matt is wearing a "Mary Original." Isn't Mary an amazing knitter? I am impressed!

Tis the Season to Tailgate

We had our first Spartan home game this past Saturday.
We had a great time and the Spartans won BIG!

I had a shirt specially made this year!

Jill, Erin and I enjoying the beautiful weather and fun.

Bird-dogging in Cali

The long-awaited trip to California to visit family and watch MSU vs. Cal finally took place over Labor Day weekend for the Perlin boys. This trip had been planned for well over two years. Many memories were created (Breadman, Birddog, Seat Relocations, Water Cooler Near Death, Lost Baggage(s) and The Birddog (Dave) leaping up on the dance floor to hang with the Amazon women) to name a few.

These shorts were the topic of much conversation throughout the weekend.

The day of tailgating started out fine and very calm. We had found a parking lot that eventually was filled with all MSU fans.

Then the action started to pick up...........

.......and it turned to this.

Here was a picture from the vantage point of our seats at the game. Unfortunately, MSU lost the game 38-31. However, the golfing, heckling and overall goofiness will never be forgotten. Thanks to Alli, Tom, Uncle Mike and Aunt Chris for playing hosts for the 5-day bender.

Labor Day Weekend

I had a nice weekend while my husband was away at the MSU/Cal game. Carrie and I had lunch together with her sister and her sister's daughter. Carrie is due in February. Here is Baby Perlin meeting Baby Nester. I got to see Carrie's new house too!

We had a Labor Day BBQ at my parents house. I got to watch Joey play soccer with Uncle Dave.

and color with grandma. I bought Joey some developmentally appropriate crayons :). Aren't they cute!
